Which are the best hawaiian islands to stay on for a retired couple interested in seeing the sights?
We’re not into the active sports like surfing and snorkling, just a bit of Beach/pool swimming and shopping, people watching, sight seeing, etc.
My parents are retired. They stayed for two weeks in my condo on Waikiki Beach on Oahu. They had a wonderful time on Oahu because amenities were within walking distance, local transportation was always available, they could book island tour excursions with the concierge in the lobby, and senior activities were always available. The beach was right outside the lanai and they met other couples with similar interests as they. They often lounged all afternoon by the pool; mom sipping drinks and eyeballing my dad while he swiveled his head watching bikini clad wahines! Rumor has it that he came home with a sprained neck; from all that swiveling or mom trying to break it!
